It’s beautiful to humbly admit we don’t have it all figured out and accept we never will.
The top of one staircase only brings us to the bottom of the next and the more we know, the more we realize we don’t know.
Perhaps we don’t need to know more after all. Perhaps the freedom that comes with letting go and surrendering is what we’ve been after all along!
Squishing ourselves down to fit into a cookie cutter of someone else’s ideas was never a destiny we were born with.
This piece is all about breaking free of boundaries! Watching the old limitations fall away and seeing the world anew! The world and in the mirror. Looking at everything from all angles and adopting new perspectives.
Relativity Reimagined” is a remake of the famous lithograph “Relativity” by M.C. Escher. It is the perfect picture to illustrate the sense of sight in this series. Relativity defines how opposites rely upon one another to coexist, such as paradoxes and the irony of truths.
Relativity is that which is in relation to, or that which is in relationship with something.
That which is seen, is also seen by something; the two are relative to one another, one wouldn’t exist without the other. Perhaps the opposites are one, two sides of the same thing. The beauty of your freedom is that you get to choose for yourself how you see things.
This is the sight of the inner eye, the sight of understanding, interpretation and open mindedness. The ability to see clearly.
When we imagine the world to be a certain way, we envision it, we create it or recreate it. We see what we believe and we mirror what we believe.
We have the ability to change our perception of the world and take action towards taking charge of our circumstances. Our interpretation will change our focus. It’s a reformative practice to refocus our mind’s eye.
What we are aware of, that which has our attention is amplified and magnified. We incorporate into our subconscious mind that which dominates our attention. With practice we can see in new ways that override the limitations of fear.
Do we see the same rainbow?
Do we understand anything outside of our own personal and unique interpretation?
Each heart is its own rainbow eyeball, an inquisitive soul, a wisdom carrier. We carry the infinite wisdom because we carry the infinite perspectives.
The ability to share with one another through language and the technology which connects one side of the planet to the other is a huge blessing and responsibility.
Focus your observation of life and your conversations on the things that you want to keep seeing, so that they magnify! Just like a magnifying glass, we see clearer and larger than life!
“Magnify God, not obstacles”
~Florence Shinn
Magnify peace, joy, and love! Reinterpret all that you see through a loving eye; sifting all things through the lens of love!
Can we see ourselves and others with pure acceptance? Can we see all of life’s circumstances with love?
What do we see when we look into the mirror?
Are we shining our light or holding it in?
Is the light within us darkened by misdirected focus?
When we watch culture, religion, economy, politics, and the health of our planet, do we just accept all these things as is? Or do re-envision our world, our identity, with new possibilities?
Two eyes, yet singleness of focus; there is one worthy of seeking and everything else naturally falls into place. The fact of the matter is that each of us sees the one just a little differently. Could you dare to see the world from someone else’s staircase?
The act of looking deep into the eyes of a friend or lover, we see their spiritual essence. Making eye contact is not always comfortable, it's as if there is something to hide. Opening the spiritual eyes means being human with one another, fearless, vulnerable with nothing to hide, protect, defend, or prove.
Opening up the eyes of the heart to have empathy and see from another person's perspective, mirroring them, being open to learn from them, being connected with them, and finding some common ground to relate to one another!
